The rules for using the Maatla website, Academy, Facilities and messaging services
Version 1.0 · Last updated: July 2026 · Effective date: 08 July 2026
Maatla Healthcare (Pty) Ltd operates as a CIPC-registered South African company. References to "we," "us," "our," and "Maatla" denote the company itself, while "you" and "your" refer to any individual accessing services or receiving communications.
The agreement encompasses the main website, Maatla Academy learning platform, Maatla Facilities dashboard for healthcare providers, and WhatsApp/SMS messaging services. Users agree to these terms upon accessing services or receiving opted-in messages.
Users must be 18 years or older, or have parental/guardian consent. Users confirm provided information is truthful and they have authorization to share others' information, such as family members.
4.1 Maatla Healthcare: A WhatsApp-based support service delivering medication reminders, collection alerts, check-ins, and voice notes for chronic condition and elderly care management. Reminders are a support tool and do not replace your own responsibility to take and collect your medication or to seek medical care.
4.2 Maatla Academy: An online platform offering practical health awareness courses with lessons, quizzes, certificates, leaderboards, and simulations. Academy courses are for education and awareness only. They are not accredited and do not certify clinical or professional competence.
4.3 Maatla Facilities: A dashboard enabling healthcare providers to manage medication collections, schedule appointments, distribute reminders, and handle prepaid credit.
4.4 Important Health Notice: Services provide support and education only, not medical diagnosis or treatment. Emergency contacts: 10177 or 112.
Users bear responsibility for account security and all associated activity. Unauthorized access must be reported immediately to info@maatlahealthcare.com. Maatla reserves rights to refuse, suspend, or close accounts.
Users agree not to:
7.1 Plans and Prices: Family subscriptions: Basic (R50/month), Pro (R80/month), Advanced (R150/month). Pricing may change with website notification.
7.2 Payment and Automatic Renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically with charges at each period's start until cancellation.
7.3 No Obligation to Remind: Users manage their own subscriptions. Maatla is not obliged to send you a reminder or any communication before your account is billed for a renewal.
7.4 Cancellation: Cancellation stops future renewals from the current period's end, with no partial refunds except under specified circumstances.
Courses purchased individually or via plans grant access upon payment confirmation. Certificates confirm course completion only, not professional competence.
Facility operators confirm lawful patient information rights and consent. Role-based access controls must be implemented appropriately. Prepaid credit funds messaging and related usage. Patient information use is restricted to care delivery.
Messages require opt-in consent. Mobile charges may apply. Opt-out available via "STOP" reply or email to info@maatlahealthcare.com.
The Services are for support and education and do not replace professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Emergency calls: 10177 or 112.
Maatla name, logo, content, and design are protected. Users receive limited, personal, non-transferable rights for intended service use only. Unauthorized copying, modification, or redistribution is prohibited.
Users retain content rights while granting Maatla permission for service provision and improvement. Users confirm content authorization and responsibility.
Services depend on external providers. Maatla disclaims responsibility for third-party services and associated terms.
The Services are provided on an as is and as available basis. Maatla provides no guarantees regarding availability, continuity, error-free operation, or fitness, subject to non-waivable South African consumer rights.
Liability excludes indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Where liability applies, it's limited to amounts paid within three months preceding claims, preserving non-excludable Consumer Protection Act rights.
Users compensate Maatla for reasonable losses and claims arising from service misuse, term breaches, or infringement of others' rights.
Maatla may suspend or terminate access for term violations, legal compliance, or service protection. Surviving provisions include intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability limitations.
Personal information handling follows the Privacy Policy, incorporated into these terms.
